Girls' Qurʾān & Islamic Studies – Saturdays

Overview
Our Islamic Studies and Qurʾān course for girls is a holistic program that seeks to nurture sound belief, meaningful worship and exemplary character, with practical mastery of purification and prayer taught in an age-appropriate and life-relevant way. This is complemented by personalised Qurʾān instruction, guiding students at their own pace from letter recognition to fluent, tajwīd-accurate recitation and memorisation. Each weekly class is designed approximately to be ⅔ Islamic Studies and ⅓ Qurʾān.

Please note that this is a one-day offering of the course, run on Saturdays.

Islamic Studies
ʿIbādah (worship), ʿAqīdah (belief) and Iḥsān (Islamic conduct, manners and values). This program is based on the well-known ‘Ḥadīth of Jibrīl’ wherein the Three Pillars of the religion and their core areas are defined by our Prophet ﷺ. Students will be introduced to these pillars with gradual explanation and in class discussion that will foster a holistic understanding. A portion of each level will focus on the prayer and preparation for it with lessons that are age appropriate, relevant to life in Australia and taught by experienced and qualified instructors.

 
Qurʾān
Learn to read, tajwīd, recitation and memorisation. Students will progress at their own pace in a one-on-one class setting starting from the basics of letter recognition and pronunciation, through to theory and application of tajwīd with fluent recitation before memorisation. Teachers cater to all levels, from those starting with their alphabet to those memorising. Competency in tajwīd as assessed by the teachers is a prerequisite for memorisation.

Important Notice
Due to Eid al-Fitr, there will be no class on Saturday, 21st of March. As a result, the term will consist of 9 classes, with the final class held on Saturday, 4th of April.
