Overview
Our Understanding Islam course offers a deeper engagement with the Islamic sciences, strengthening students’ understanding of core disciplines and Islamic discourse. Designed for those seeking to understand their religious obligations and the Islamic tradition in greater depth, the course also remains accessible to dedicated beginners willing to study diligently. This programme constitutes the third year of a structured three-year curriculum, though most subjects are taught as standalone modules allowing new students to still join at this stage.

Build upon your foundations by diving deeper into the Islamic sciences and strengthening your understanding of Islamic discourse. Nourish an appreciation for the Islamic tradition with a focused look at a variety of subjects (Year 3):
- Fiqh
- ʿAqīdah
- ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth
- Ḥadīth
The course covers ten core subjects of the Islamic sciences over three years and is designed to equip the student with the knowledge required to live a meaningful and productive life as a Muslim in submission to God and service to humanity. Students will also develop an appreciation for, and a connection to the Islamic tradition through sound chains of scholarship that are traced back to the Prophet peace be upon him.
Important Notice
Due to Eid al-Fitr, there will be no class on Saturday, 21st of March. As a result, the term will consist of nine classes, with the final class held on Saturday, 4th of April.

- ʿAqīdah: The Foundations of Belief by Imām al-Ghazālī
- ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth: Introduction to Ḥadīth Studies by Sh. Furhan Zubairi
- Ḥadīth: The 40 Ḥadīth of Imām al-Nawawī by Imām al-Nawawī
