Classes starting on the 20th of July.
The Primary School Home Schooling Program at Daar Ibn Abbas is a comprehensive, nurturing academic initiative designed to provide Muslim families with a structured, values-aligned alternative to mainstream schooling.
Fully aligned with the New South Wales Education (NSE) Syllabus, this program ensures that students receive a rigorous, accreditation-compatible education without compromising on the Islamic environment and character that families trust Daar Ibn Abbas to uphold.
The program welcomes both boys and girls, delivered in a safe, structured, and Islamically appropriate environment that supports young learners through every stage of their primary education journey.
A Holistic Academic Experience
At the heart of this program is a commitment to holistic education — nurturing not just academic achievement, but the development of well-rounded, confident young individuals who are equipped with the foundational skills they need to thrive. The curriculum is structured to ensure no subject area is neglected, balancing consistency in core disciplines with breadth across the full scope of the NSW syllabus.
Core Subjects (Delivered Year-Round)
The following subjects run continuously throughout the academic year, forming the academic backbone of the program:
- Mathematics — Building numeracy, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning across number, measurement, geometry, and data, aligned with the NSW Mathematics Syllabus for each Stage.
- English — Developing foundational and advancing literacy skills including reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and oral communication, in line with NSW English Syllabus outcomes.
- Science — Introducing students to the natural and physical world through inquiry-based learning, aligned with the NSW Science and Technology Syllabus.
Rotating Subjects
Complementing the core curriculum, students engage with a rotating selection of subjects drawn from the broader NSW syllabus, ensuring exposure to the full spectrum of their stage requirements. These include subjects from the HSIE (Human Society and Its Environment) learning area, such as:
- History — Exploring personal, local, national, and world histories in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
- Geography — Developing an understanding of places, environments, and our relationship with the world around us.
- Other HSIE and Key Learning Areas as appropriate to each stage.
The rotating model ensures students receive focused, quality engagement with each subject area in turn, rather than a fragmented approach — building genuine understanding at every level.
Stage Structure & Class Times
The program is structured across the three stages of primary education, each with dedicated weekly class sessions:
Class Times:
- Stage 1 | Years 1 & 2 | Monday | 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
- Stage 2 | Years 3 & 4 | Friday | 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
- Stage 3 | Years 5 & 6 | Monday | 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Each four-hour session is carefully structured to deliver age-appropriate, engaging learning across the subjects scheduled for that week, with regular breaks to support the wellbeing and concentration of younger learners.
Why Choose This Program?
- NSW Syllabus Aligned — Students study the same curriculum framework as their mainstream peers, building a strong foundation for high school and beyond.
